About us
My name is Gwen (the one with the microphone) and I am responsible for the catering and
with my assistant Hazel (next to me) we take it in turns on club nights to provide tea, coffee and soft drinks along
with other things found in a tuck shop. When not on duty it gives one of us the time to join in and
generally sit with a drink and have a chat. We try to arrange something for ocassions like Halloween
and Christmas parties with the usual party games like spin the bottle, pass the parcel with dancing and
karaoke.

The club takes most people aged 16 and over, we meet on monday evenings at St. Chad's
Community Centre, Hunter St, Horninglow, Burton on Trent, Staffordshire. There is usually someone there
from 6:30 in the evening and we normally break up and leave about 9:15. We moved here in 1995 and it has
excellent facilities for the disabled. At the regular monday meetings there are activities such as pool,
darts, shula, bingo, quizzes and we have our own karaoke machine, but sometimes it's just a chat over a cup
of tea or coffee for some. We sometimes go out together on other days and evenings of the week including,
the cinema, playhouse, tenpin bowling ,the zoo, Granada studio's, pop concerts at the NEC, afternoon on a
canal boat, nothing is beyond us, like the time we went abseiling in our wheelchairs. We also have weekend
breaks and holidays including London twice Butlins and Pontins numerous times, Belgium and Tenerife again
this year.
